Partial legislative elections held on Thursday in Ain Chak in Casablanca, Gersif, Safi and Dryos resulted in a change in the number of political party seats, especially the Independence Party, which lost two seats.

The “circle of death” at Ain el-Shaq in Casablanca was known as a parliamentary purge in which the Constitutional Court ousted Abdelhak Shafiq, a People’s Movement Party candidate, after he was expelled from the Authenticity and Modernity Party, followed by the Independence Party by Ismail Benabi, who was able to regain his seat in this constituency.

At a time when the Party of Authenticity and Modernity lost its seat at the Ain Chak level, after the departure of Abdelhak Chafik to the People’s Movement Party, its candidate in the Safi constituency, Rashid Buktay, managed to gain a seat in parliament.

Preliminary results of the partial legislative elections in Safi, which took place until about 11 pm on Thursday, showed that Al-Bam moved forward at the expense of Tohami Meska MP from the Social Democratic Movement Party, who was ousted by the Constitutional Court. .

In the Hersif district, the Authenticity and Modernity Party returned again in the form of its candidate Muhammad al-Baranishi to win a seat out of the two abolished due to violation of the health emergency, while the Socialist Party Union of People’s Forces ruled through its candidate, member The Politburo of Said Aziz, who was behind the overthrow of this constituency, is leading the results and thus gaining a seat in Parliament.

At the Driush district level, the Socialist Union of Popular Forces came up with a surprise and won a seat in parliament through their candidate Younes Ashen, while Mustafa Al-Khaliwi of the Authenticity and Modernity Party managed to regain his seat in parliament, while the Independence Party missed the opportunity to regain own abolished place in this district.

These results show that the Party of Authenticity and Modernity was able to maintain its number of seats in the House of Representatives (87 seats) after it regained the two seats that had been abolished in Gersif and Driouch and replaced the Ain Chak constituency seat in Casablanca. , in which he did not present an integrated candidate in the city of Safi.

As for the Istiklal party (78 seats) participating in the government coalition, in this polling station it lost its seats in Gersif and Driush, which it received on September 8, 2021.

Notably, the opposition Socialist Union Party, which has 35 seats, confirmed its presence in the partial elections, having won a seat in Al-Hoseima a few weeks ago, it returned to win two new seats in this area.

As for the People’s Movement Party, which has 26 seats, it was able to make up for the seat it lost in Al Hoceima after the failure of former minister Mohamed Laaraj by restoring Abdelhak Chafiq in Ain Chak. area in Casablanca.
