Apple plans to start production of the iPhone 14 phones in India two months after the initial product release in China.
The company is working with suppliers to ramp up production in India and reduce the 6- to 9-month delay in new iPhone production, according to Bloomberg sources. Apple, which manufactures most of its iPhones in China, is seeking alternatives in light of the ongoing clash between Beijing and Washington and the closure of factories to combat Covid-19. The company will release its new iPhone 14 phone on September 7th. Apple sees India as a strong alternative to China in terms of manufacturing, as well as a promising consumer market of 1.4 billion people, in addition to the financial incentives offered to tech companies through the Made in India program.
