The Youth Committee of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports, at its meeting held yesterday, Monday, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, approved three initiatives put forward by the Kingdom of Morocco in the framework of the event and program to be implemented in Morocco in as part of the Year of Arab Youth 2023, initiated by the League of Arab States.
It is expected that these initiatives will be presented at the next meeting of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports, which will be held in Saudi Arabia on 18 January.
The first initiative involves holding a training course for Arab youth in the field of democracy and human rights in Marrakesh in March next year, with the aim of strengthening the capacity of youth in the field of children’s, youth and women’s rights, promoting advocacy methods and developing a culture of dialogue and non-violence.
As for the second initiative, it is related to the organization of training days on the theme of the digital platform for Arab youth in the month of June in the city of Rabat.
These study days aim to share information about the opportunities available to youth and create a space for communication between those who are looking for innovative opportunities, as well as to create a digital platform that includes various studies and reports on Arab youth.
The third initiative is to conduct a training course in the field of volunteer work and civic participation in December 2023 in the city of Tetouan.
This training course aims to share good practices among Arab countries in the field of volunteer work, work to form groups of young people in the field of volunteer work, as well as to create an Arab network of volunteers to coordinate between institutions working in this field. .
During the meeting, in which Morocco was represented by a delegation that included, inter alia, the head of the Youth Affairs Department of the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communications, Abdel Majid Sanih, and the Deputy Permanent Representative of Morocco to the League of Arab States, Hisham Ould Salay, a vision, plans and overall strategy for 2023 for Arab youth.
The Arab Youth Public Launch aims to “train a generation of young leaders capable of building a better future for the Arab world, executing their vision and strategy, listening to youth input and building on their priorities by conducting research and surveys related to Arab youth.” . , as well as organizing forums and events throughout the year to exchange ideas, experiences and cultures.”
