Moroccan international Zakaria Abu left the club during his team’s match against Rennes on Saturday evening as part of the 15th round of the French League due to injury.
Abu Khalil was substituted between the two halves of the match due to a thigh injury and was replaced early in the second half by Belgian Brecht Dejagerie.
French newspaper L’Equipe confirmed that the Moroccan player was injured and that it could jeopardize his participation in the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, after national voter Walid Regraki named him to the final list.
Abu Khalil, 22, has already scored three goals in a Toulouse shirt, knowing he signed club statements last summer passed on to him from Dutch club AZ Alkmaar.
