A year before the date of the National Conference of the Party of Authenticity and Modernity, Al-Mahdi Bensaid, a member of the party’s politburo, announced that he supported Fatima Zahra Al-Mansouri, a member of the politburo, and a minister in the government who would be the party’s general secretary during the conference scheduled for 2024 to succeed Abdel-Latif Wehbe. Bensaid, Minister of Culture, Youth and Communications, during his reception yesterday at the Faqih al-Tetuani Foundation at its Sala headquarters, called Mansouri a “fighter” and founder of the Party of Authenticity and Modernity.”

He indicated that what he is saying is not new, but that he had already said it in 2020 during a previous party conference, adding: “I said that if Fatima Zahra al-Mansouri ran, Abd al-Latif Wehbe supported her.”

He said that it would be good for the Authenticity and Modernity Party to support the arrival of a woman to lead the party and said that the current general secretary, Abd al-Latif Wehbe, also supports her, and he made it clear that Wehbe had earlier during a conference held in 2020, said that if she decides to dissect herself, he will support her. Bensaid denied the existence of currents or the desire to overthrow Wehbe and said that the party was acting calmly, especially since it first became responsible for the government, having lived a long experience in the opposition since its founding. in 2009.
