The Government of Canada has decided to remove the Tik Tok app from all government agencies and it will no longer be possible to re-download it on these devices. The audit showed that TikTok’s data collection methods can lead to cyber attacks.

“The Government of Canada is constantly working to ensure the cybersecurity of our networks by identifying threats and vulnerabilities, including those found on social media platforms,” Foreign Canada said in an email.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said justifying his government’s decision by saying: “We take freedom of expression and the freedom of Canadians to use the Internet very seriously, but we also have very important online protection principles for the safety of Canadians.” .”

“This may be the first step, this may be the only step we need to take, but we always make sure Canadians are safe,” Trudeau added.

“This new federal ban could also be a source of inspiration for businesses and individuals,” Trudeau said.

In this regard, the Canadian newspaper The National Post reported that the federal government is banning the use of the Tik Tok app on all state-owned mobile devices until March 1, as the company’s data collection methods create a vulnerability to cyberattacks. This decision was made by the Chief Information Officer of Canada to ensure the security and protection of government information systems and networks.
