The Moroccan Center for Tolerance and Interfaith Dialogue condemned the “absurd, provocative and shameful act of Swedish extremists who burned a copy of the Holy Quran”, expressing its condemnation of the pitiful attempt to damage Islamic holy sites, the eternal miracle of the Quran.
The same organization expressed its intention to organize next Thursday a peaceful silent protest with candles in front of the Swedish embassy in Rabat, “as an expression of rejection and condemnation of all components of the Moroccan people for this shameful and condemned act.” .”
The aforementioned center condemned in a communiqué an incident which it called “sinister” when the Swedish authorities allowed an extremist among their own citizens to burn a sacred copy in front of the cameras and screens of the world, without taking into account the feelings and sanctuaries of Muslims, calling for intervention to prevent the infliction of harm to the Holy Quran and sacred religious symbols of all religions.
The Moroccan Center for Tolerance and Interfaith Dialogue stressed that this act, which affects the feelings of 2 billion Muslims, will inflame feelings of anger and hatred between religions and peoples, emphasizing that “the values of tolerance and coexistence do not require double standards and treat everyone with the same firmness and strictness encroachment on the shrines of all religions, beliefs and feelings of their supporters.
