According to the Southern Regional Customs Administration, 10 tons 882 kilograms of molasses, 491,864 packs of cigarettes, 48 hallucinogenic pills, more than 7.3 kilograms of kif and more than 8.4 kilograms of tobacco powder also participated in the destruction process.
The same source added that the operation, which took place in Matrah-controlled Dakhla municipality and the rural commune of Arkoub (Golden Valley), also included the destruction of 11 tons of medical and veterinary drugs and 12 tons of irritants. .
These materials, seized within the last three months, were destroyed by various security forces at the level of the Dakhla Oued Eddahab district in the presence of representatives of local authorities and various security forces under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. .
Tawfik Mohamed Abdo, customs director of exchange in Dakhla, said the prohibited items had been seized by customs and other security forces over the past three months under the supervision of a prosecutor’s representative at the trial court in Wadi Eddahab.
Abdo added in a press statement that these seizures are part of the tireless efforts being made by the competent authorities to combat smuggling and international drug trafficking.
For his part, Deputy Deputy King at the Wadi al-Dahab Court of First Instance, Mohamed Zarad, said that the operation was in the context of efforts being made by various security agencies to combat the illegal trafficking of these illicit substances. considering their dire consequences for the national economy, health and safety of citizens.
