Hugo Lloris, the goalkeeper for France and Tottenham Hotspur, officially announced his retirement from international football on Monday evening.

And French newspaper L’Equipe reported that Lloris, 36, has decided to end his international career with France after more than 14 years defending his country’s jersey.

Lloris recently competed with France in the 2022 World Cup, where he and the Roosters lost the world title in the final to their Argentinian counterpart.

And the statistics network Opta said that Lloris became the highest-scoring goalkeeper in World Cup history with 20 matches, surpassing the previous record held by Germany’s Manuel Neuer with 19 matches.
