The French Embassy in Morocco said consular activity has returned to its normal pace before the 2020 health crisis and warned against resorting to so-called intermediaries.
The embassy said in a message received by Hespress that consular activity has returned to normal. This means that “the restrictive measures imposed by the French authorities since September 2021 have been completely lifted and the goal is to return to the normal activities that preceded the health crisis in 2020.”
The embassy stressed that its consular services are working at an uninterrupted pace to achieve this goal, especially to ensure the maximum possible meetings. According to her, turning to “intermediaries” only leads to an increase in the phenomenon of pressure on the appointment system.
The embassy explained that “reservations for appointments are free of charge and they are regularly provided by consulates general for various categories of visa applicants. She urged those who wish to apply for a visa to post the complete file, including all documents, as shown on the france-visas.gouv.fr website, the only official website for visa applications.
According to data released by the French Ministry of the Interior on January 26, 142,921 French visas were issued to Moroccan citizens in 2022; This puts Morocco in second place after India in the list of countries where visas are issued and in first place in the list on the African continent. In 2021, this figure was within the issuance of 69,408 visas to Moroccan citizens.
New Ambassador Christophe Lecourtier, accompanied by the French Consul General in Rabat, Sandrine Loulon Motta, visited the TLS center in the capital to find out if visa activity has returned to normal.
And France has decided in 2021 to halve the number of visas issued to Moroccans on the grounds that the Kingdom is not cooperating on the return of illegal immigrants; Which Rabat denied.
