The Official Gazette of Umm Al-Qura published the details of the approval of the rules for standby power sources, which are as follows:

Board of Directors of the Water and Electricity Regulatory Authority.
Based on the powers given to him.
And after reviewing Articles 4, 8, 9, 10 and 11 of the Electricity Law issued by Royal Decree No. (M/44) dated 05/16/1442 AH.
And after examining Articles 4 and 5 of the organization of the Office, issued by Cabinet Decree No. (263) of 05/14/1442 AH.
And after considering Article (24) of the Executive Regulations of the Electricity Law regarding the duties of the Authority, issued by the Decision of the Board of Directors of the Authority No. (43/02) of April 13, 1443 AH.
And after consideration of Memorandum No. (43/51/07) submitted to the Council at its fifty-first session (51) held on August 20, 1443 AH, corresponding to March 23, 2022 AD, which includes a request for approval by the Council document on the rules for the use of reserve sources of electricity in accordance with the formula of the accompanying note.
And after considering the minutes of the fifty-first meeting of the Board of Directors (51), held on August 20, 1443 AH, which corresponds to March 23, 2022 AD.
as required by the public interest.
resolves the following:
First: Approval of the rules for reserve sources of electrical energy, according to the attached formula.
Secondly, this decision must be published in the Official Gazette and takes effect from the date of its publication.
Thirdly, this decision must be brought to the attention of all those who are obliged to ensure compliance with its requirements.
