Al-Raji felt at the symposium where the Anaruz network presented a memorandum petitioning for the abolition of underage marriage that the Justice and Development Party had a particular vision of society; “Therefore, the case of the Family Code was withdrawn from the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family to the Ministry of Justice; Since Ramid had more power in the government, he relied on the basis of society, which is the family, to implement this concept.

And a lawyer for the Marrakech Commission added that the abolition of underage marriage in Morocco “should be based on the question: ‘What kind of social project do we want? But people in France don’t marry children,” he said.

When asked about the negative consequences that opponents of the abolition of underage marriage would bring, such as an increase in the number of single mothers as a result of sexual intercourse outside of marriage, Al-Raji replied by asking: “Where is the problem if we have single mothers? »

He added: “Open relationships were not a problem in Moroccan society. Because as a result, children are adopted by the tribe, and people’s houses were open to everyone. What has happened now is the infiltration of other cultures that have disrupted the cultural structure of our society, especially the culture of the Wahhabis.”

The same interventionist criticized a number of articles of the Family Code, such as alimony for the wife, considering that “this degrades the dignity of a woman; because it perpetuates her dependence on a man,” adding that alimony “should be borne by the state, providing employment opportunities and access to various public services.”

He added that the king’s allocation of a large part of the last speech from the throne to the Family Code “signifies the presence of political will to respond to the demands of the human rights movement.” We can talk about the presence of political will to activate it; But the most important thing is that there is a will, and the project of society that we want can only be built from the family,” he said.
