The first contract includes the signing by Mavani and the Globe Group of a contract to establish an integrated logistics zone and a re-export zone in the Islamic Port of Jeddah on an area of ​​135,000 square meters; This promotes job creation and settlement and supports national logistics companies.

In order to strengthen the food security system through the Jeddah Islamic Port, the authorities and the Marine Services Project Company signed a contract to build new berths with a design depth of 16 meters for berths (26 to 31), as well as a length of 1100 meters in a multi-purpose terminal worth more than 458 million rials with in order to find new berths. It accepts large grain carriers, develops port infrastructure to accommodate larger vessels that meet the needs of the local market, and provides the Kingdom with a strategic reserve by increasing the amount of imported grain.

To strengthen Jeddah Islamic Port’s position as a leading logistics platform, Mawani signed a contract with Leaders of Modern Construction Ltd. joint venture. and Saudi Huta Heger Field for a 184 million riyal project to deepen the approach channels, circulation dock, sea lanes and south terminal dock, facilitating the reception of giant container ships with a tonnage of up to 24,000 TEU, and also help to increase the competitiveness of the port and attract more international shipping lines. a security system project at King Fahd Yanbu Industrial Port with Giza Arabian Systems worth about 61 million rials, which improves the efficiency of facilities, develops the security system of the port and strengthens control in accordance with the best international standards.

In the same context, Mawani and the University. King Abdulaziz signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing excellence in research, training and academic activities related to the work of the maritime transport and ports sector, as well as enhancing joint cooperation in the fields of occupational safety and health, as well as in relation to the law of the sea and investigation maritime accidents and injuries; and protecting the environment from oil spills and pollution from bunkering operations.

The Authority has entered into a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Accreditation Center aimed at providing accreditation services to conformity assessment bodies contracted by Mawani and strengthening ways to collaborate on training and exchange of experience in a way that supports national efforts to protect the consumer and maintain the health and safety of the public in accordance with the standards of assessment in the Kingdom.

Mawani and the Saudi Electronic Information Interchange Company also signed a memorandum of understanding to develop new port community management systems and apply fourth industrial revolution techniques to Saudi Arabian ports under the Smart Ports initiative by expanding the services provided in ports. ports and double from 46 current services to 150 targeted services, including Achieve digital transformation trends in the logistics sector.
