Argentinian Lionel Messi, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, has received the 2022 Player of the Year award presented by the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA).
This put Messi ahead of award-nominated French duo Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) and Kylian Mbappé (Paris Saint-Germain).
Messi led his country to win the Qatar 2022 world title, for the third time in tango history and the first time in a flea march.
Leo scored 6 goals on Argentina’s path to the title, and fans all over the world sang his name after he fulfilled his dream, noting that he received the tournament’s best player award.
Messi received the “Best” award once in its history in 2019, following its separation from the Ballon d’Or presented by France Football magazine.
It is noteworthy that yesterday, Sunday, Messi scored his 700th career goal for clubs in various competitions against Marseille, scoring 28 goals for Paris and 672 goals for Barcelona.
