He added: “15 years ago we did not export anything and our income was zero dirhams. Today, thanks to the vision of His Majesty the King and the actual intervention of His Majesty, his support and the support of this sector, we will break the car export record this year as we reach 100 billion dirhams.

In the same context, Riad Mazur confirmed that Morocco is working to increase its car production to one million cars, noting that today we have a production capacity of 700,000 cars. Production is expected to rise to 970,000 vehicles in 2025.

The Minister of Industry and Trade said that 64 percent of auto parts are made in Morocco and that percentage is expected to rise to 69 percent by the end of this year, stressing that the government aims to reach an integration level of 80 percent.

On the other hand, Riad Mazour stressed that “Morocco is working to develop the electric vehicle industry, adding that our country has a production capacity of 40,000 electric vehicles and we are working to increase it to 100,000.”

In order to maintain these gains and continue to be among the most competitive countries in the automotive industry, Riad Mazur emphasized the importance of investing in car batteries, noting that “there are very positive signs for the government to invest in this area. , and that we will be on time in 2024 and 2025.” With a Moroccan product that supplies these batteries.”

In addition, the Minister of Industry and Trade stated that “the sector employs 220,000 Moroccan talents and our goal is to create between 80,000 and 120 additional jobs; This is within the government’s commitment to create 400 net jobs in the industrial sector.
