An information glitch has caused confusion during identity checks at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports in Paris today, Saturday, causing long queues for passengers.

And Paris Airports announced in a tweet on Twitter that “a national holiday with border guards is currently affecting departure and arrival traffic checkpoints at Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports”, urging passengers to “expect a longer time expectations.”

It is currently unclear if the malfunction affects other airports.

Scenes posted on social media showed long lines at document checkpoints at two Paris airports while some passengers sat on the ground.

The information system associated with the malfunction subsequently resumed operation, the Interior Ministry told AFP.

The passenger, who arrived from Martinique, told AFP that she spent about two hours in line at Orly airport, where she said between 1,500 and 2,000 people waited out of line.

“It’s a shame,” Anok said in a phone conversation with her, asking her not to give her full name, “people get angry, especially parents with children. No one from the Paris Airports Company came to tell us anything.”

She said that passengers began knocking on the glass doors in the corridors, and the border guards opened them and began to manually check the documents.
