Today, Friday morning, in the city of Rissani, in the province of Errachidia, the work of the twenty-fifth session of the Moulay Ali Sherif University, organized this year on the theme “International Relations in the Era of the Alawite Dynasty … The Period of Sultan Moulay Ismail”, was held on November 24 and 25.

The work of the Moulay Ali Sherif University at its 25th session will witness, as in previous sessions, the organization of a series of scientific symposiums in which a number of university professors and researchers will shed light on the reign of Sultan Moulay Ismail. , as well as the organization of two exhibitions of images of the kings of the noble Alawite state and archaeological finds at the Selmas site.

The opening of this session, called the “Silver Course”, was chaired by Abdelhak El Marini, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of Moulay Ali Sherif University, in the presence of Mohamed El Mahdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth Affairs, Culture and Communications. , a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the President of the Draa-Tafilalt region and the President of the Moulay Ali Sharif community, researchers and university teachers.

Mohamed El Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth Affairs, Culture and Communications, began his speech by talking about “the role of the Moulay Ali Sherif University, organized under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in uniting the people of the country. from various regions of the Kingdom, and raising the boundaries between national and local in a scientific convergence based on unity and solidarity between the people of a single people with an ancient past and a promising future, under the wise guidance of the glorious Alawite kings.

And the same government official added in his speech on the occasion that “Moulay Ali Sherif University has been able to remain a sophisticated national forum of science and knowledge in the light of preserving the symbolism of the place, Tafilalt, the cradle of the noble Alawite state, in the constant celebration of the values ​​of cohesion between the throne and the people.”

The Minister of Youth Affairs, Culture and Communications said that Morocco, which has always been a country of civilization and history, has never ceased to exist in the depths of human civilizational interaction, whether in ancient, medieval, modern and recent history. Therefore, Moroccans have the right to be proud of their loud and influential speech, which we find traced through all the ages”, noting, “the theme of this session, which evokes “international relations in the era of the Alawite state … the period of Sultan Moulay Ali Sharif.

The same minister emphasized that “one of the merits of this university, in addition to its specific academic role, is the developmental roles that fall on us within the framework of public responsibility. The University, as confirmed by King Mohammed VI, God help him, in his royal message addressed to the participants in the work of his previous sessions, it is appropriate to stand on development projects in the field of culture and art and the preservation of material values. and intangible cultural heritage.

While Abd al-Haq al-Marini, head of the Scientific Committee of the Moulay Ali ash-Sharif University, confirmed that Sultan Moulay Ismail was one of the greatest sultans of the Alawite dynasty, and foreign historians called him the “Emperor of Morocco”, as he spent 57 years as king in the 17th century AD and increased his power over all regions of Morocco.

A historian of the Kingdom of Morocco and an official of the royal palace added that Sultan Moulay Ismail made Meknes the capital of his kingdom and sultanate, indicating that Moulay Ismail’s power reached the borders of Sudan on the right and aligned with the Ottoman state in Algiers in the east of the country, and also supervised the construction of castles and the Kasbah and the creation of a strong army, reinforced by the army of Al-Bukhari, and the mountains of rural tribes, and the liberated by his military forces of the borders of Larash and Asilah al-Mamura from the influence of Spanish and Portuguese troops, returned the city of Tangier from English influence and besieged the cities of Ceuta, Melilla and Mahdia rising above the mouth of the Cebu Valley.
