On Friday, 30 September 2022, a working session was held, which was attended by Abdel El Malek El Kettani, Ambassador of Morocco to Côte d’Ivoire, Mr. Abdelwahab El Jabri, Officer in charge of cooperation and documentation to the General Directorate of Territorial Communities, Abdelaziz El Darwish, President of the Moroccan Association of Heads of Prefectures and Provinces, and Mr. Director General of Marchica Med Said Zaro, to discuss matters of interest for the Kokodi Bay Protection and Value Project, which was commissioned by the Agency under assistance of Côte d’Ivoire in its implementation.

This project, which was prepared in pursuance of royal directives aimed at the ecological rehabilitation of the Gulf and Lake Ibriy through the construction of a dam, hydraulic and marine structures, the construction of road infrastructure, as well as the construction of a marina, a city garden and paths equipped for walking.

Following this meeting, Minister of the Interior and Security of Côte d’Ivoire Fagondo Diomandi received Abdelmalek El-Kettani, Ambassador of Morocco to Côte d’Ivoire, Abdelwahab El-Jabry, officer in charge of cooperation and documentation at the General Directorate of Territorial Communities, Abdelaziz Darwish , President of the Moroccan Association of Heads of Prefectures and Provinces and Mr. Saad Benmbarek, Representative of the Council of the Region, and Mr. Saber Al-Kiaf, Representative of the Moroccan Association of Heads of Community Councils. The Minister commended the Moroccan-Ivorian relationship and the great support that Ivorian soil institutions receive from their counterparts in Morocco through programs or partnerships such as the African Fund for Supporting Decentralized Cooperation of Territorial Communities, established by the Ministry of the Interior through the General Directorate. territorial communities, which contributes to the sustainable and integrated development of territorial communities and has a direct impact on the local population.
The minister also praised a group of structured projects known to the city of Abidjan, such as a suspension bridge 630 meters long and 108 meters high, which will connect the communities of Balato and Cocody in the south.
It should be noted that Morocco is making a significant contribution to the development efforts of Côte d’Ivoire through projects in various fields and sectors.
