On Thursday, the Government Council approved draft Law No. 60.22 concerning a basic system of compulsory health insurance for people who are able to bear insurance premiums and are not engaged in any paid or unpaid activity, presented by the Minister of Health. and social protection, Khaled Ait Taleb.

Minister Delegate for Parliamentary Relations, Government Spokesperson Mustafa Paytas, explained during a press conference after the Council meeting that this project is being carried out in compliance with the requirements of Law no. contributions, can benefit from the basic compulsory health insurance system.

He emphasized that the project aimed at defining the rules that govern the basic compulsory health insurance system for people who are able to pay contributions and who are not engaged in any paid or unpaid activities.

The Minister indicated that this draft provides that the basic system of compulsory health insurance for persons able to bear contributions and not engaged in any paid or unpaid activity is subject to general rules common to all major compulsory insurance systems. due to illness provided for by Law No. 65.00 as a general principle.

He added that he also singles out a category eligible for benefits under this system among those who have proven their ability to bear subscription obligations and are not covered by any other system of basic compulsory health insurance, with the adoption of a system focused on beneficiaries of existing programs social support as a mechanism for confirming the ability to bear the obligation to pay contributions Assigning the task of managing this system to the National Social Insurance Fund with the determination of the validity of registration from the first day of the month following the month in which the insured is registered.
