A gram of 24 carat gold cost 238.60 rials, $63.63, and a gram of 22 carat gold cost 218.72 rials, $58.32.

Spot gold fell 0.8% to $1951.37 an ounce, while US gold futures fell 0.9% to $1968.20.
Reuters said spot silver shed 2.1% to $23.56 an ounce, platinum shed 1% to $981.89 and palladium shed 0.7% to $1,449.94.
